Documents Required to Attached with Form 49A

Fill the form 49A with a black pen and block letters only. The following document will be attached with form 49A (PAN application form)

Proof of identity

• Certificate of identity signed by a MP, MLA or Gazetted Officer, etc.

Notes: if the applicant is minor then the parent or guardian’s proof of identity and address will be accepted.

• If the applicant is NRI then a copy of the bank statement in the country of residence will be accepted.
• At the time of opening the bank account of minors, the PAN of the parents will be specified.

Instructions to Fill Form 49A

• Form 49A can be downloaded from the website of TIN. Please note that download only the new PAN application forms and avoid old application forms. It will not be accepted by TIN centres or application centres.
• Then fill out Form 49A with the required detail as mentioned in the instructions given on the backside of the PAN Application.
• Go to the TIN centre with form 49A and required documents – Find Tin Center Location Here
• Submit it to TIN Center and get the acknowledgement for the same. It will help you to track the status of your PAN.
• It will take up to 15 days to reach the PAN card to your address. But you can track the status of PAN after 4 days. Sometimes systems generate PAN earlier than the estimated time.
• The department will issue a laminated PAN card containing the name, photo, signature and PA Number.

Please remember and kept your PAN card safe, you are not allowed to apply for another PAN. You can apply only one PAN once in a lifetime. If any assessee has more PAN than one, they have to surrender all extra PAN to assessing officers at your ward range of income tax office in the city.

Sir I have opened a Educational / Vocational Institute. I want to make PAN Card for this Institute. but I have only it’s Affiliation Certificate from AIECCE, New Delhi. Bank Account open only after Made PAN Card. Reply

Hello: To apply for a PAN card of a minor, pls advise what docs are reqd?
Do you need docs of the Guardian or of the minor? Thumb impression or signature of the minor or Guardian? Thanks
